Sculptra
Revitalize with Natural, Long-Lasting Volume
Sculptra Explained
Sculptra is a cutting-edge injectable treatment that gradually restores lost facial volume by stimulating your skin’s natural collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra works deep within the skin to rebuild its structure, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance that lasts. Perfect for those seeking long-lasting, natural-looking results, Sculptra enhances facial contours over time, giving you a refreshed and revitalized glow.
How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra works with your body to stimulate collagen production lost to aging, rebuilding and reinforcing your skin’s structural foundation. Through a series of treatments, typically about three sessions over a few months, it restores the support and volume of youthful looking skin, providing results that can last up to two years.
What does Sculptra target?
Sculptra is a treatment that activates your skin’s natural power to revitalize collagen production for a more youthful appearance. Sculptra is a unique A&C Treatment due to its ability to stimulate collagen.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of Sculptra treatments you need depends on several factors, including your age, facial features, and desired outcome.
How should I prepare for the treatment?
- Avoid certain medications: Stop taking blood-thinning medications like aspirin, ibuprofen, and Aleve at least a week before your treatment. You should also avoid herbal supplements like vitamin E, fish oil, garlic, and ginkgo biloba.
- Avoid alcohol: Don’t drink alcohol, especially red wine, for at least 24 hours before your treatment.
- Take Arnica: You can take Arnica supplements a week before your treatment to help with bruising. You can also dissolve five Arnica pellets under your tongue three times a day, three days before your treatment.
- Eat pineapple: You can eat fresh pineapple or take a bromelain supplement one day before your treatment for anti-inflammatory benefits.
- Hydrate: Drink at least 64 ounces of water.
- Take Vitamin C: Take 2000 mg of Vitamin C daily before your treatment.
- Avoid exfoliating: Stop using retinol and exfoliating acids three days before and after your treatment.
- Avoid dental work: Don’t get a dental cleaning or any other dental work two weeks before your treatment.
- Avoid vaccines: Don’t get any vaccines two weeks before your treatment.
- Take anti-viral medication: If you have a history of cold sores or herpes, you should take anti-viral medication before and after your treatment.
What should I expect the day of treatment?
- Arrive at the office with a “clean face”. Please do not wear makeup.
- To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied.
- In some cases, a local numbing medication will be injected into or around the area(s) to be treated.
- You may experience a mild amount of tenderness or a stinging sensation following injection.
- To ensure a smooth and even correction, your provider may massage the area(s) treated, which may cause a temporary, minimal amount of redness to your skin.
- After the injection(s) some common injection-related reaction will likely occur, this may include swelling, redness, pain, itching, moderate to severe bruising, discoloration, and tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve spontaneously, usually within a few days, up to 2 weeks after injection
- Depending upon the area(s) treated and product(s) used, you may feel “firmness” in the treated area(s) for 1 to 2 weeks after treatment. These will soften over the next 10-14 days.
What should I expect post treatment?
- Apply an ice or cold gel pack to the area(s) treated (avoiding pressure) as this helps reduce swelling and the potential for bruising.
- Once you have adequately cooled/iced the area(s) as instructed and any pinpoint bleeding from the injection site(s) has subsided, you may begin wearing makeup.
IMPORTANT: You must follow the massage instructions in our post-care instruction to ensure the best outcome of your treatment results.
